Why I'm Thankful for Travel Hacking... and You Will Be Too!

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I took some time to reflect on how grateful I am for all the trips our family has been able to take for free thanks to Travel Hacking! Here's the backstory for why this is so significant for us... My family intentionally lives and works in the poorest neighborhood in our city, and we have the privilege of helping people out of homelessness, addiction, prostitution, gangs, incarceration, and more. The best part of that is that we've been able to see hundreds of stories of transformation! The hardest part of that is that we barely made enough money to live on for many years, which meant that we couldn't afford to travel. Everything changed when we discovered Travel Hacking! We earned over 1.2 Million Travel Rewards Points in our first 9 months, and have continued to earn since then. So now, we have the ability to travel all over the world for free! 

So let me take some time and show you just some of what we've been able to do and what's next for us as you dream about where you could travel with Travel Hacking! 

Free Flights for our Family of Four

We've accumulated hundreds of thousands of airline miles, which means that we've been able to plan multiple trips to see family in other parts of the country, I've been able to take my family on work trips with me, and we've also had the ability to spontaneously drop everything and hop on a flight when needs or opportunities have come. All of these flights would've cost us thousands of dollars, but we got them for free with Travel Hacking.

What's Next? I just booked two trips for our family in the next three months. We'll get to enjoy Christmas with my family in Detroit, Michigan in December, and we'll get to enjoy a trip to Disney with my parents in February!

Free Couple's Getaway Trips

Thanks to all the hotel & resort points we have, my wife & I have been able to enjoy multiple Birthday or Anniversary Trips to celebrate special occasions. My favorite trip that we took was when we got to see Hamilton on Broadway, and we were able to stay in a luxury hotel overlooking Times Square & Broadway in New York City!

What's Next? In 2025, we'll celebrate our 10th Anniversary, and we're planning a massive trip to Europe. We're going to get lay-flat, business-class flights and stay in multiple European resorts! This trip would cost over $10,000 if we were paying in cash, but Travel Hacking makes it possible for free! 

House Rentals

Every year, our family vacations with some of our best friends (Who we also got into Travel Hacking!), and when we all go away, we want to rent a house. This year, we rented a 3-Bedroom/3-Bathroom Oceanfront Beach Condo in Virginia Beach. This would've cost $3,800, but we got it for free with Travel Hacking!

What's Next? For next year, we've already started looking at renting an incredible beach house in Bethany Beach, Delaware!

This is just the beginning...

As you can see, Travel Hacking changes everything! We went from being unable to travel to now enjoying multiple trips per year! In 2025, I'm really looking forward to traveling to Disney, to Europe, to a Beach House, and more! Looking farther ahead, I'm looking forward to telling each of my girls that I'm going to take them anywhere in the world that they want to go for their 18th Birthday!
